Discover Cornwall had the pleasure of meeting up with Anne at her studio. Anne is a Cornish artist who specialises in painting landscapes and seascapes with oils on canvas. After graduating in Graphic Design and Illustration from St. Martin’s College of Art, Anne freelanced in London, specialising in Album Covers and completing commissions for Andrew Lloyd Webber, Billy Connolly and Gerry Rafferty, amongst others. Anne then moved to the South Coast and worked as a graphic artist for ITV Southampton before starting a family. Since then she has collaborated on several children’s books, as well as exhibiting paintings. Anne now has painting in private collections in the United Kingdom and United States of America. Anne now lives in Cornwall and paints full time.

Recently she has exhibited at the Landmark in Teddington, where one of her paintings was chosen for the brochure. You can meet Anne during the summer months at the Ebeneezer Gallery in Polperro, where she exhibits her paintings alongside other local artists. Anne finds her inspiration from the Cornish coastline and her pictures reflect her love for Cornwall.

“In my paintings, I try to capture the grand scale,” Anne says, “the immensity and structure of the ancient rocks, the patterns and amazing colours of which they are composed.”
